Listen to a wide variety but this guy Chris Farlowe still doing the blues circuit, for the love of music with The Norman Beaker Band,he's just turned 70 but puts on a great show,http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L5YKS102hPs.
Famous for "Out of Time" but really more of a blues man.
Saw him on the same bill as Otis reading and The Equals (Eddie Grant) in the sixties, bet gig ever!
Seen him many times, never disappoints @£20 a head.

Ah, the ever great Fleetwood Mac, I'm always amazed (impressed) by Lyndsey's guitar ability especially on The Chain. Playing both rhythm and lead with one hand...

Thanks for that Brian_UK. Good to see you join in. Also, R.E is quite stable here now though it was touch and go all of yesterday. Fleetwood Mac, with all the constant fighting they endured, really did deliver excellent music. Have many of their albums, back when there was no internet. Who's showing their age now?..Mike.
Black Box "Ride on time"

faith no more - "from out of nowhere"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H5FSLgKD5J4
great band from the recent past.
They do a nice cover verion of "easy" too
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L9X_msJ-7OI
I think mikeref should list to "easy" first though, the first link/song would scare him away!
Forgot to mention, also listened to Portishead "Glory box" today
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NVuRbwnav_Y
Both bands are timeless, still sound contemporary even though 15 years old, so it would scare mikeref away for sure.
One thing I love about music, is that truly good stuff doesn't date.
Going to back in time to the 1970s,
Bill Withers - "use me"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CVy5yOs0NSA
Again, proving the good stuff is timeless.
I just felt like listening to "glory days" for the first time in for ever. You didn't label any links you posted, so I just opened them all at the same time in the background. ;)
Good thing "glory days" was the loudest so I could till hear it over the rest of them playing :)
Please label links everyone, so at least we all know what the song is going to be if we choose to click the link ;)
Another of my favourites
Beatles, Norwegian Wood
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lY5i4-rWh44
It's a crime against music if you don't have a proper stand alone 2ch amp and proper wood bookshelf component speakers for your PC :) So much good music out there on the internet. Though CM and all the others with a loud Mrs that complains about crap all the time, or hates good music should probably get a good pre amp and full headphones :D
Parting shot:
Joy Division : Transmission
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FnWPGSQjFUc
Classical music. Rosini's "march of the slaves " very appropriate.
Paul h. On your own here last night? Yeh, some of the tunes do get on me nerves. Some.... well most of todays bands don't push any buttons for me. Always good to hear the odd oldie on the radio though. Like this on by Clout, Substitute. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JzoPB...eature=related
Yeah got an email from RE saying me PMbox was full, I was just chilling at the time listening to music as I always do, and came here to clear my PMbox and see if they were still online and was going to resend whatever it was.
I was in no mental state to reply to any other threads, so i just bombed this one for a bit while waiting.
I see your all female band (never heard of clout), and raise you with a better one.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3SmjJ...eature=related
Hey Paul_h, that was a great song. and another added to my collection, thanks. Remember the Bangles from way back then. Bangles: Walk like an Egyptian. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a5N7R...eature=related
Yeah I was a kid in the 1980s and listened to stuff like that.
By the late 80s listened to metalica, g'n'r, motley crue etc. Between them and listening to electronic music or bands like radiohead, in the mid 1990s, I listened to a lot of indy australian stuff around 1992-94.
Caligula's version of 'tears of a clown' I posted earlier, also stuff like The Cruel Sea, Nick Cave, You Am I etc. I'll leave them for later though.
Noticed you posted Jenny morris before, wasn't into that mainstream stuff like that after mid 1980s even if they were Australian, but I still did listen to heaps of Aussie music like the bands I just mentioned
Here's an australian golden oldy (if you were young in the late 80s :) ) for me, that many haven't heard of, Ed Keupper (from the 1970-1980s band The Saints )
Anyway 1992 song from Ed Keupper, The Way I Made you Feel
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hzIwfa67oSY
Funny how I've barely scratched the surface of what I can quickly dig up (and others as well), but I already feel like I never have to listen anything new or listen to ads on the radio ever again, for the rest of my life. Auto tune and talentless hacks **** me to tears!
One of my favourite bands, The Church
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Q6nKP10j4s
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Osz-GQbX37o
edit: And I love this song.
The triffids, wide open road
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FSMF3...eature=related
edit: Unbelievable!
Happy as a pig in muck.
You know how I mentioned ed keupper earlier, like a day ago, and just then 'the church' I looked up, after that there was a link to the triffids of a song I like, so I edited that in.
Well they are touring together this year. Those exact three bands, together!
Woo, real music, haven't seen it live for a long time.
What a coincidence though? Crazy combo my mind came up with that others thought it would be a good idea and they would tour together.

We had a lot of good music from the 70s to 90s in Australia, no less that any other country. But Here's where I'll end my recent aussie music focus, I'll move on to later stuff from elsewhere
One more parting shot:
INXS The loved One

Up late tonight Paul-h? Another hour or so here and the light of day will show. Ah, feel the hangover already.
Almost 3am here, trying to get drunk, not working, my immunity is too high. Plus I get tired between 9-11pm, after that I'm wide awake again till 2-3am. I missed my window.
One more I have to list when talking about australian artists
AC-DC
Ride on
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XNdag...layer_embedded
RIP Bon Scott.. I'm rarely awake at this hour, but this song from Rose Tattoo will do http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-ZZnhBQXRaI
The guy that uploaded that is awesome. He has a different user name for every year.
eg for yours it was nzoz1982, but if you want songs released in 1981, you can just search nzoz1981 for example. I think he has 1960s and 1970s stuff too, just search nzoz19xx
edit: Earliest it goes back to is nzoz1967

G,day Paul-h, another night out i see. Dead tired from last night. Then had to go to fix a meat display case when i finally woke up this morning . Ah, David Bowie brings back memories from the 80's.Same time John Lennon was shot and killed. Heard the news on the way home from college back in December 1980. This one, Ashes to Ashes, was on the charts then: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j-IkC3isMoc
You did better than me after Friday night if you could still go out and work Saturday! I was useless!
Now it's Sunday, bit of Jazz
Art Blakey & the Jazz Messengers - So Tired
http://youtu.be/MEFaBKok1jg
Really gets good halfway through (for me anyway)
Just got an hour or so to go before Formula 1 car racing starts. So Relaxing and passing time 'til then.
Yeah I love my rock music, the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s alternative bands, but still got 10Gb of classic and a heap of jazz.
I also love the Joe Pass and Ella Fitzgerald collaborations too. ;-)
And some blues.
Speaking of jazz, Mingus - Goobye pork-pie hat is a favourite.
And speaking of blues and rock, I'll leave you with Jeff Beck - Goodbye Pork-Pie Hat

Weeeeeeehh Weeeeeeeeeeeehhhh Weeeeeeh Weeeeeh Weeeeh
Formula 1 - also known as Formula Red Bull Milton Keynes haha
Yeah, last year I was a HUGE Mark Webber fan. He could have done it if he didn't stuff up in Korea!
Vettel is a machine, probably the best out there now. RBR went for good qualifiers as the car was built for aerodynamics, needed to lead not overtake in dirty air. Which is why Webber has been good for them, but Vettel is definitely a cut above, plus Webbers starts just suck, the bunny hopping learner driver kind of sucky start.
But this year, I want Button to at least finish 2nd in the championship, if Vettel has to win, at least Button can beat everyone else as I've given up on Webber. But like Webber, Button was a nobody until given a decent car.
Not saying Webber or Button are bad, saying the opposite, the car matters a lot and many great drivers never get a decent drive. So I support the drivers that are underdogs and got lucky enough to get into a car that they wouldn't have otherwise unless they had a lot of money/fame/fans
Love me formula 1 mate
when I was in the transport refrigeration game
I had a right bummer of a job - having to spend the whole weekend
from friday to sunday @ silverstone - staying in huge tents with like fifty girls
doing the catering & I was there with my a-z pass for me & vehicle to keep
the refrigerated trailors running, what a dirty dogging weekend that was
I was made to leave the pits 2 hours before race starts, and had to spend all that time with girls
you would have hated it too mate

Ah, seems i missed F1, but always there for Bathurst 1000... no matter what. Remember watching Ayrton Senna crash back then, live, and thought, living on the edge really isn't worth the rush.. RIP Ayrton. He died while living his dream http://www.formula1.com/teams_and_dr...ll_of_fame/45/
Hi Mike
when Senna raced F1, I think was much better, today toooo many rules/regs restricting the cars
that tiny back wing and them tyres has really slowed them down, its so close now
they should allow free for all & allow them to use whatever they like including turbo's/superchargers
that would liven things up again, I have also been lucky again a couple of years ago
I used to look after the chillers for 'williams' in oxford, including the wind tunnel
and have been allowed to sit quietly in the corner, during testing
there facility/garage is as clean as a labrotory - spotless
Best find a song for Paul now and RIP Senna

So I've finished with the Australian stuff for now.
How about Irish, in a way only the Americans know how? :)
I think the singer is Irish though, so he's not faking an accent, but the rest of them are "boston Irish".
It's cool to me though mixing rock and traditional instruments.

That was alright. I've never heard of Elbow before, seems like they didn't get anywhere in Australia. Could be just me though as I don't listen to the radio or anything.
Heard that song and looked up "Grounds for Divorce" and "Red".
Thanks.
