as per installation instructions. It varies, so the manufacturers tell you with their specific units in the install instructions. The bigger the unit, the longer the run allowed as a general rule.
small 2kw units are normally 7m larger splits are up to 15m.
As far as oil return, that's mainly an issue if the outdoor unit is above the indoor unit and the pipes are exceedingly long.
Majority of systems do have a minimum pipe length as they come pre charged for X meters. this means if you get a back to back then you will have an over charged system!Quote:
