Recovery and vacuum equipment
Is a vacuum pump suited to recovery of refrigerant by connecting the reclaim cylinder to the outlet? Is it capable of producing outlet pressures required to return refrigerant to a cylinder?
Is a recovery system suited to drawing a vacuum on a system before comissioning?
I've looked at manuals for a number of recovery systems and mostly they don't specify to what depth of vacuum they pump down.
Re: Recovery and vacuum equipment
1) no, you can't bleed a pressurised system into a vacuum pump. It will damage.
2) no, the pressure of a vacuum pump is just few hPa, an most of them do not have an appropriate connection for a pipe on the outlet.
3) no, recovery system do no evacuate. Most of them are condensing units, and they are operated at best when pumping liquid in push pull.

Thanks, that's what I thought. I guess both pieces of gear are needed.
