Has anyone experienced bearing failures or bearing design faults on these chillers as I have a site who has lost chillers now,al with the impellers smashed to pieces costing loads of dosh.Any help would be appreciated.Cheers.

have heard and seen some failure of bearings, usually do to oil problems, like worn oilpumps and lack of oil due to surging and oil pressostat not working properly!
What age is the unit and how many hours has it run? And how many starts/stops?
I'll assume this is a 19XR model. Never seen a ZR in the USA. I take it you are discussing the Kingsbury Thrust failing. Surging on these chillers will chew up the thrust real quickly, they tend to be prone to surging if running outside thier design envelope even slightly. There doesn't seem to be a rash of failures of this type in my area. JMHO
