^ Making a fast get-away, after lifting the units? :D
Post a couple of dogs or cats pictures from bored panda to add an emotional element into your course.
It works, believe me!
And, if you are preparing a presentation put the following slides into it (at respective time points): "you have watched 50% of the presentation", "you have watched 75% of all slides". I have seen it somewhere, that was funny. And woke me up during the very boring presentation. :-D
^^All been there, death by Powerpoint.^^
If only you knew the battles us who work for the manufacturers regularly fight on your behalf...
In Asia all engineers has been to university, the ones working for the brands that we know and recognise was most likely in the top 5-10% of their peers leaving uni.
They don't see why we can't run the training courses by just flicking through 800+ slides during a 10+hr day (excl. breaks).
When they got wind of me running an accredited installer course using only ~90 slides they didn't believe my training was good enough...:(
Yes, I do sympathise Viking, it must be difficult for trainers to produce a course that gets the information through to the 'trainees' whilst trying to maintain their interest in the subject matter of the day.
Sadly some 'trainees' do not appreciate the purpose of the training; they are just there for the skive off work.
