Hello,
We have a Daikin LT altherma unit, it is 6 years old. problem is, that the outdoor unit freezes up over time, ice even reaches fan of outdoor unit.
We have checked refrigerant charge, electric heaters (booster and backup), water flow and volume but everything seems to be normal.
Anyone had this issue? Any help would be appreciated.
Check that the drain pan outlets are not blocked.
Make sure that the unit is up off the ground to prevent a build up of external ice, which would then block the drain outlet pipe.
Is the drip pan base heater fitted and working?
Also check that the pipe sensors are in good contact with the pipe and also that they have not gone out of calibration.
Check that the 4 way reversing valve is shuttling correctly to allow the full refrigerant flow for defrosting.
hello there, i have the same problem with my LT Altherma 3 years old, the unit is 1 meter up off the ground, i have refrigerant changed right type right weight R410A 1,7 kg, 4 way reversing valve works correct, r1t and r3t are ok, r2t have a small deviation, in example instead of 48k give 50k. The unit doesn't start defrost at all

You have done some fairly extensive testing. Suggest you contact your local Daikin office to seek their help.
hello there, thank you, i allready had contact Daikin service but they moves very slow and the winter is very cold
any help ?, i am freezing waiting Daikin service next week
