thought you might go for a Harley there Gary?

My choices were: Buy a Honda and retire or buy a Harley and keep working to pay for it.
I took the Shadow for a test ride and the decision was a slam dunk. You just can't beat Honda for quality and dependability... even at twice the price.
g day fellas iv got a few bikes some nortons a couple of hoda fours and a 90 model fatboy
see this is where I get incredibly jealous, riding in Florida or Australia or Scotland ......................... mmm let me think?
sweatshirt? thats summer clothing here
winter is lovely here in far north queensland...27 28 c most days...blue skys....love it...summer is great to but thats when we get the rain [liquid sunshine] last night we got about 50mm in a couple of hours...but its still warm...and always nice for a ride...
I've got a 1997 RF900, a bit rare nowadays 'cos they stopped making them in 2000:eek: apparently nobody liked the big ass on em
I have a friend who claims to have originated the Harley "Fat Boy".
As the story goes, he was sitting in a bar in Sturgis having a few drinks when someone told him that Willy G. Davidson was out in the parking lot and wanted to meet him. He said "yeah... sure" and continued drinking.
About an hour later he wandered out to the parking lot to find Willy G. admiring the modifications he had made to his bike.
Shortly thereafter, out came the Harley Fat Boy, which looked a lot like his bike.
I don't know how true it is, but it's a good story and he tells it well. :D
LOL good story :)
In my neighbours garden, I see an old BMW R600 (probably around 1975). It seems to be in excellent condition. Good body. A while ago, I heard his son puttering around the garden and it sounds good.
Can you still get parts for these bikes?
looks like it

For all you petrol heads i would like to introduce you to road legal quads. mines a yamaha yfz 450 0-60 in 4.5 secs and you can ride it on a car licence and at only 300 quid fully comp insurance, cheapest and most fun of getting a speed thrill on four wheels dont you think. I pray for snow.
Quads lean the wrong way on the curves... just like cars.
 Refrigeration Paradise... are you serious! How are you calling the sad git.. ha !
SOrry, forgot to post this earlier...
Good spares source here..

I'm thinking about parting with the old BMW K100RS (1984) and buying a brand new old pattern (India) Royal Enfield 500cc Bullet.
They used to be one of 'the bikes' to be around when I was somewhat younger and it's the nearest I can get to my old 500cc Norton single of days gone by.
hi fellas theres mine its a 1976 honda xl 125 fully restored to new condition see ya
Nice one Adam, my it's as old as my daughter - argh, don't tell I said that....
im in the middle of taking my test so i can also become a biker.....should be fun:eek:
Those were good bikes. I had a 1974 XL250 I rode everywhere and some places I should not have (straight up, straight down, ditches, trees, rocks,... you get the picture:D )Quote:

I put a lot of mods into it, use to race it, but now it is just for the street. To expensive to have track days.

Trouble is, we can't see the bike :D:D
Is that you can't see the pic? thumbnail? or that I can't bring it over for a play date?
Or is it that I am fat...lol.
Eng Student
NO, can see the photo without problem, I'm not sure about the routing of the exhaust pipe though :)
The only excuse I have is it looked good on paper.
Ducati M-900, dubbed Il Monstro (Monster) by the Italians.
I wanted a 914 when I bought the Monster, but I just couldn't pony up the extra money for the 914.
Aldematt
you have excellent taste in bikes, awesome machine and on the twisties there aint much that will get away from you. Is yours the fuel injected one or carbs.
Ian
Thanks Pooh. Mine has the dual Mikuni 38mm carbuerators.
It's a 1994, so it's been around a while.
I've had three normal maintenance valve adjustments on her and her top speed is only about 130, but you're absolutely correct, she's a beast in the curves.:D
I've owned the Japanese made motorcycles and they are nice, but my Ducati weighs 404 lbs. (dry weight) and my Aerostich kneepads have seen their share of scrapes when I was a younger lad.
My wife won't let me drive like that now.:p
Mine wont so I do not tell her, but she has a 620 Monster of her own so she does know what they go like. My Monster is a M900ie which is off the road at present due to some slight modifications I am making

Ian
I had a gsxr- had to sell it tho!!!
God how i miss it.........
Chris
I thought so.
I remember the old 888's had that same look in the rear. Those trellis type alloy frames are unmistakable Ducati. Very nice.
I like the 'tricked out' effect you've given the Monster.
Good luck with it.
Post some pictures of your progress and the completed project, if you can.
