Is solid CO2 (below 5.2B.Abs) expanding?

Hello, I am journalist for R744.com and got a very hands on question by one of our readers:

Is solid CO2 (below 5.2B.Abs.) is expanding?

For example to empty an installation with 1.5ton CO2.

The lowest point are the pumps and can not be completely empteyd,is there a risk that they can burst open at that moment?

What is the most effecient way to empty an rather large installation (for repair works,needs to be operational again)?


Can anyone help?
