hi nh3wizard i have noticed that someone somewhere is closing down threads just when they start to get intresting i use this site for a bit light hearted banter i wish some off the moderators of this site would lighten up a bit before they disapear up there own arses as it seems they are not happy unless they answering questions on supaheats.sorry to rant but a lot of engineers use this site to find info out about other companys/engineers.
Haha
I agree with some of that but nowadays you just quote health and safety after you have worked for 4 hours and say you need 8 hours rest.;)
I think the best advise i was ever given with supermarkets was that when you are on standby, always volunteer to do a case clean on a sunday evening. Two reasons no1 if you dont get a lot of work in at the weekend you can bump your hours up. And no2 if you had a hard weekend you can guarantee a minimum of 6 hours rest and let the cleaners do all the work while you sleep in the canteen.:D
denmans instal down the pan..heard its folding..lost all contracts.........oh dear:confused::confused::confused:
I work for Space but have yet to hear anything concrete, lots of speculation but no one seems to know the facts yet.
I wouldn't put too much faith in anything that gets posted tomorrow, just remember what day it is.
Yeah man,it ain't that bad idea....we are also humans and on top of that we got family to feed.Do you really think ,that employee X from company X should be more responsible? I doubt it.We do anything possible to keep the customer happy unlike an employee who scratches most of the time his head and is very cautious if his boss knows what he's doing at the moment.I noticed that their only concern is to work less .
There's a meeting next week with Tesco's and all the major players. Should know within a day after that who has got what.
If Space do lose out, who is big enough to fill their boots?. Who has the labour force and the resources to take on such a big slice of the pie?
Watch this SPACE.......
wr are more than big enough to take stores from space and as for engineers they just go with the $$$$$$$$$$
It's not just a case of taking stores, it's about taking the Contract. Space currently do half of the country. Have WR got offices and engineers in as many locations as Space ? Another thing to consider is: if Tesco's move away from Space, Fridge/HVAC, which companies out there can offer both services?
WR have more than twice the locations than space. Including 2 in Scotland which Space have none of.
Look at both their websites and click 'locations'
HVAC is going in-house anyway.
Chillin:):)
Before space got the tesco contract about 2 years ago WR did most of the service for tesco and still do some now so if they got the majority of them it would be business as usual, plus if it is the majority engineers will be tupe'd from space, but wouldn't leave space much to do north of bormingham would it. Oh dear poor warrington branch! All will be revealed!!!!
WR has got 24 branches and cover all the uk from them . Space got 10 mainly in the south . I think WR could do the work np . I cover the north west and had the work 2 years ago
But, doesn't that ask the question - "If WR are so good and did such a good job, why did they lose ther contract ?"
Not sure either if TUPE would apply. It all depends on the percentage of work for an individual engineer that is lost. It still leaves Sainsbury's, M&S, Lidl, Aldi, Somerfield and others. With variations per area.
WR lost the contract because they would not work for free . Tesco tryed to tell them how much they would do the work for . It doesint work that way
ppl forget Hussman did the work and look at them now . Oh yer there gone !
Hi
Its the middle managment who need to panic, us engineers just move around.
Regards B
should hopefully know this week who has tesco contract.
i think the smart money says wr are going to get the work they have twice the branches and twice the amount of engineers than space.
Hi
I would think it would be split betweem WR, Space,Project first,GB hopefully there will be news soon. However Project First may surprise a few people.....
B..
I think giving it to project first would be a waste of time.
They are only project managers, I don't think they own a single item or employ an actual engineer (although I could be wrong).
Who would do the actual work, WR? Space?
Chillin:):)
Hi
Project First bought a Welsh Refrigeration company named Red Kite..Keep your eyes and ears on them I think.
Regards B
RED KITE. previously ECS.......
Hi
Its amazing how many first time posters are suddenly appearing lol
Just remember that mods are also watching this thread, cheers
guys guys .................................
thread closed
Apparently Space did not go in cheap, thats why WR got it a few weeks ago but then it got taken off them because of small print .
Only now Space have dropped their price to compete with WR.
