Show a schematic what you mean? I think compressor ratio will otherwise too large
There are many reasons.
I will stick with using NH3 as an example.
NH3 has discharge temperature issues at high compression ratios, particularly with piston compressors.
If you attempt to go from -40F (-40C) suction to 86F (30C) discharge the life of the compressor will be affected severely.
If we split compression into two stages and cool in between we can keep temperatures down to a reasonable level.
There are also energy savings to be had. If we attempt to run a single stage the HP (KW) required at startup is much more than what is needed when the initial high load falls off.
Then there are screw compressors. That is another conversation.
Thx NH3 for that. It makes sence to cool the refrigerent.between the stages. was wondering what why a there wasca brach off from the liquid line into the interstage cooler line. It's there to cool the compressed ***** between the staged.

This might help 5.40 minutes into video.
Excellent RANGER1!
Saved me a lot of typing and Brainwork!
Danfoss have a lot of good stuff like this, like the way they show flows & colours.
Seems a lot of other stuff assembling valves, like big ICLX.
Had one not assembled on new installation, so was pretty handy as well.
The hand book is also very good.

Hey,
Certainly! The branch from the liquid line to the interstate cooler serves a crucial purpose. It helps cool the compressed ***** between stages, optimizing efficiency. This cooling minimizes potential heat buildup and ensures smoother transitions, enhancing overall system performance.
In the realm of industrial refrigeration, the term Blast Freezer Interstage Cooler likely sparks thoughts of efficiency and precision. Imagining this equipment suggests a critical role in rapidly cooling products between stages, ensuring optimal temperature control and preserving the quality of perishable goods during the freezing process.
The primary purpose of an interstage cooler in a blast freezer is to significantly improve the overall efficiency of the refrigeration system.
