Ultra low temp refrigeration
Nuklhed here
I am looking for service manuals or books on the subject of Low Temp Refrigeration.
I have recenty taken a job at a University where I live and part of it will be taking care of refrigeration in research labs, I am an experianced refrigeration tech but mostly in the food service industry -20f range
any help would be greatly appreciated

Re: Ultra low temp refrigeration
Hey, welcome to the forum.
One piece of advice - "wear gloves and don't leave your fingers inside the cabinets" :D
Re: Ultra low temp refrigeration
Hi Brian
Thanks for the advice, I had already thought of that one
Re: Ultra low temp refrigeration
ULT Lab applications usually include immersion or dip coolers, cryo-baths & ULT recirculators...most of which employ "cascade systems" in order to achieve -90°C etc.
Basically, this means one fridge loop cools the next.
if you google "cascade refrigeration" etc. I'm sure you'll find some papers etc. that explain the theory in detail. etc.
My advice.....you'll need a good vac pump & charging scale.... & shed loads of armaflex:cool:
