Eer
If I have a Split Air Conditioners with the following Data:
Cooling Capacity: 18,000 Btu/hr (5.2755 kW)
Power Input: 2.17 kW
Some people will calculate EER as follows:
Option 1:
Cooling Capcity (Btu/hr) / Power Input (Watts)
= 18,000/2170 = 8.295
Option 2:
Cooling Capacity (kW) / Power Input (kW)
= 5.2755 / 2.170 = 2.43
So which one is the correct calculation and what is the difference between both?

Re: Eer
I'd say option 1 gives you EER.
Option 2 gives CoP.
Cheers,
Andy.

Re: Eer
1 is only valid for countries with IP system.
Both EER and COP should be W/W or kW/kW.
EER is summer efficiency.
COP is winter efficiency.
