I'm looking at buying a temperature and humidity meter and was wondering if anyone could recommend one.
I had been looking at the Fluke 971 but have read some poor reviews recently saying the WB temp can be as much as 5 Degrees out.

had a demo of the range and very impressed so far
Hi marc5180
I have used this model many times and found that - well I guess that humidity is hard to measure accurately as I get different reading errors on many humidity sensors each month I had read them. But I think the temp side is pretty accurate. That's all I can say as this instrument was not calibrated. Most of my other instruments are Fluke.
Hi Paul,
I have been looking at the field piece instruments recently but as of yet i dont know anyone who's heard of them let alone owns them.
I'd like to see a demo of the range though. Where did you see this?
Marc,
speak to these:

Hi Marc
I still rely on my trusty Sling Psychrometer :)

Back in the good old days, it was pretty much impossible to keep humidity sensors/controls calibrated... or even close.
I am told that electronics have resolved these problems... but I keep going back to the trusty sling psychrometer.
Do you remember the ones with the wind up fan in the base to blow air over the bulbs?
Can't say that I do Brian.....then again...I'm still this side of 60 :D
hi marc, im also in the market for such a tool and i was considering the fluke, did you buy it? if not what did you go for?
Hi skywalker, no I didn't buy it in the end, I stuck with my sling but bought a fluke 52-2 temperature meter which I would recommend.
hi marc, i have seen the 52-2 looks like a good meter, i was also considering the testo 410-2 does % humidity Dew point and Wet bulb Temperature, also does airflow m/s ect. everything you need really if your working on pschometrics. Anyone else got this tool?
I've got one of those but mostly use it for fast spot checks at air vents, I've compared the wetbulb readings with my sling and found there to be a considerable difference between the two.
