the difference between TEV and EEV?
Hi there, what's the application difference between TEV and EEV?
Re: the difference between TEV and EEV?
TEV controlled by the thermostatic charge and EEV controlled by electronics.
EEV is more expensive.
They both do the same job -injecting refrigerant into an evaporator of any kind.

Thanks chemi-cool.
TEV has a bulb to get the SH, then to control valve. Can EEV get SH? how EEV control flow rate?
Re: the difference between TEV and EEV?
EEv is controlled by electric servo motor.
The motor gets its commands from electronic control which collects its date from sensors .
You can read about it here:

For a refrigeration system, if it has a TEV or EEV, does it need Solenoid vale? In what situation, a solenoid valve is needed?
Re: the difference between TEV and EEV?
often times with an EEV with stepper motors you do not need a solenoid valve because the EEV can close 100%.
We also have a supermarket "Fresh and Easy" (tesco) who use a danfoss EEV that is powered from 120 or 208 volts. It is not a stepper motor but actually pulses 100% open and 100% closed through an orfice.

Also if your circuit is using a TEV and is on a rack/pack. you will need a solenoid valve either on the liquid line or suction line so you can obtain defrosting by stopping the refrigeration flow.

i don't want to put money on that. not the first time i have seen a technician covert in oil because of a valve was not fully closed.:D
