System requirements changing from R-22 to R-410A
I have to design a new system using refrigerant R-410A instead of using R-22
What would be the changes required???
Plz even if you show me the right path i may be able to follow and get solution...
Plz sir help me!!!
I have to operate between temperature limits of 45 degree celsius (condenser) and 2 degree celsius (evaporator).
Any type of help would be grateful
Thanks in advance

Have you already designed an R22 unit ?

we were using R-22 unit for many years (5-8)

Use the appropriate components suitable for the higher pressures.
Re: System requirements changing from R-22 to R-410A
Tube Size could be one step lower than R22 but wall thickness should be higher.

sendhilkmar,
thanks for the info.
i know that the system pressures of r-410A is 50-60% higher than the R-22 and its latent heat capacity is also higher than r-22 because of which u gave me that suggestion.
But instead of using a thicker and smaller dia pipe for connections if i use the thinner ones but of larger dia. will it pose me any difficulty???
waiting for reply
thanks in advance!!!!

Pipe must be suitable for the refrigerant being used regardless of size.
What sort of systems are you designing?

Recently I have inspected by Eddy Current Tubing Examination on "York" Chiller Mode: YSCBCAS35CD D on the Condenser and Evaporator Enhanced Copper tube.
The Evaporator tube size OD 3/4" diam x 1.75 mm wall thickness and under the fins wall thickness 1.25 mm wall thickness.
The Condenser tube size OD 3/4" diam x 2.11 mm wall thickness and under the fins wall thickness 1.5 mm wall thickness.
The refrigerator use 132b.
Hope this will help you on the design.
