Can't find a HP cut-off on a Radford HT scroll pack (R404a). Any ideas if it's placed somewhere unusual? Or is it possible they were installed without a mechanical HP switch? It was installed in '97.

Check the electrical schematic. Perhaps you're correct! I assume you followed the highside piping and checked the control circuit?
Yes mate, checked everywhere around the pack. All the pressure switches on the high side just controlled the condenser backup.
I thought, or perhaps assumed, it were a legal requirement to have a mechanical HP cut off on systems this size?
hp setting sometimes controlled by elm/rdm controller via pressure transducer,forcing pack into standby mode.
you will find compressors are fitted with fixed hp switches
