rebuilding twin screw compressors

hi guys ive tried many different ideas to set the thrust on different screws, but 1 idea i had was eg on bitzer,refcomp,trane,was that because they have grub screws on axial bearing nuts was to calculate the thread pitch size and back off ,but some how it doesnt work , and i always hang them up with eye bolts and then measure the thrust and tighned the nuts.but its hard work especially when doing a bearing change on site with large compressors.does any body have any easier ways of setting thrust or any ideas , thankyou

Use of dial indicator is common on most brands .Push rotor to discharge end set zero then clamp or secure thrusts , whatever is relevant to that screw .

Gauge film in hundredths of mm. Tighten the register until the axial gap is within spec.
Unfortunately, they are all using angular contact ball bearings. Axial load shall be withstood by axial bearings. In this, they are all failing, from the most known, to the least one.

hi ranger1 and nonickname the most common screws ive come across regular are bitzer csh75 csh85 csh 95 and medium size refcomp screws because they most common in chillers in uk
