Dear forum fellow we have a TRANE electric chiller with screw compressors.
In the morning when we start it,condenser pressure goes high and usually this compressor offers two trips before it gets stable .
Cooling tower is functioning well ,might be condenser tubes problem.
Please share your experience and guidance here.

If the system is on Ammonia then when did you last purge from the condenser?
As you mention the condensing tubes, whats the state of your tube jets (if fitted?)
You say in one breath the cooling tower is functioning well but then it may be the tubes!

Just guessing at this stage.
Don't forget to check the basics first - strainer on pump. Is there a vsd & water in/out temps would be helpful as would hp & refrigerant as Grizzly said.

It is dual circuit compression chiller without tube jets.
We recently serviced strainers of all cooling water pumps.
Last year we cleaned condenser tubes with hydro jetting process.
We dont see any abnormality in cooling tower operation and its related temperatures.
I suspect the state of condenser tubes.
Is there any water treatment regime being used on the condenser water system?
What are the water condtion test results showing?
Possibly screw compressor is loading too fast with high startup loading. Condenser water flow rates too low, or too high can have same effect. Non condensibles in system.
that model of machine is? type of refrigerant?

Chiller is of TRANE company,RTWA-216 and refrigerant is R22.Make-up for cooling water is done from underground water taken out with deep well turbine pump.Arcoburag chemicals are used on cooling water side to maintain chemistry.
Yesterday again ,strainers have been cleaned ,cooling water flow rate adjusted and little improvement in condenser pressure condition has been observed today .
However we intend to clean condenser tubes but it is not possible to take it out of service right now as operation of chiller is required now a days.

all other problems would lead to a permanent state of high pressure,but the unit would start! but if your machine is loading to fast ,or your pump isnt pumping enough water this would fit perfectly !!,

matter stands partially solved now.
For future I want your guidance related to tube cleaning of condensers.
These are copper tubes and as I said we intend to clean these tubes in near future,kindly may I know your expertise regarding different methods of tube cleaning and their effectiveness.
Or should I start a new thread for getting your guidance related to different methods of tube cleaning and their effectiveness ?
approach measures the condenser, check the temperature sensor indicating the saturated condensser is correct, measures pressure compressor discharge pressure gauges

Check start up current against second circuit as it is possible the screw's slide has siezed and it is trying to start fully loaded (had this myself)
I think we need to clean the condenser, and check the refrigerant charge.
