Can the oil in a small refrigeration compressor be changed to regular car engine oil if the compressor will be used as a vacuum pump for a CO2 laser? A friend is asking me that because he wants to build a CO2 laser cutter for precision cutting plastic and etching metal. (He works at a computer store and he wants to add a "professional" case modding service.)

I was told in college its all to do with the oil wax
Car engine oil will wreck the fridge compressoe , as Snowman says will become thick sludge , porridge......
I saw someone do it once, put it into a Prestcold Semi.........
Stopped the motor in its tracks.......
Compressor was wrecked
