You might find information online for the Ferris State University training manual for the test.
I just heard from another contractor that now the EPA is allowing "open book tests?" Is that true?
only for mobile refrig. tests
oops! i mean automotive
Try MACS or you can go to www.rses.com for more info
Try this website:-
http://www.epatest.com
I assume that the EPA test is similar to our own C & G 2077/2078 safe handling qualification?
Not sure about the differences...
You should be able to check it out at www.epatest.gov or www.rses.com
Zolar
I think they're pretty similar Frank, at least they are aiming at the same thing.Quote:

There are 2 tests that are open book-
The automotive and the Type I
But you have to shop around to find out who gives them. Most places make you take closed book tests.
ESCO Institute Section 608 Certification Exam Preparatory Manual (EPA Certification) (Paperback)
Yes I'm a carpenter, but I am going to Tidewater Community College for my heating air conditioning certification. My teach told me that all I would need to pass the EPA certification, is found in the manual listed above.
Hope this helps you,
Dave
Yeah,
Dave @ ddk208 is right = the ESCO Institute Section 608 Certification Exam Preparatory Manual (EPA Certification) (Paperback)
has every answer to the EPA 608 test. The only thing I could use during my test was the back page of that manual which was the temp/pressure chart.
There are the 4 sections in that manual; but what REALLY helped to prepare me to pass my EPA ( universal certification ) was to study that manual with the available power point version of that same manual which was available to my jump drive from a friend.
ALSO: Take your time and READ the questions carefully as they try to trick you in what seems to be a simple question!
I scored 85+ and above on all 4 sections my first time at bat which again gave me the "universal certification".
