Hi, I am currently studing Refrigeration and was wondering what capacity would be required to reduce 20 tonnes of product from -12 C to -26C in 4 hours if the product specfic heat below freezing is 2.1 kJ/KgK? the cold store is 30,000m3.
Thanks

Would this be homework by chance? :D
You work it out then submit your findings and then maybe people will help you with your reasoning.

Hi, It's in the modern refrigeration manual.
specific heat x weight x amount of heat you are trying to pull out of your product. That is the start then you need to calculate the time period and any heat loss. Doors, etc.
