Well, I'm paying for a 2mb connection. What do you think I can do about the following results?
1) Complain
2) Reduce my monthly payment accordingly
3) Vote with my feet and move elsewhere
4) Pack up the internet and live happily ever after :p

Hi Frank, :)

they are measuring that in some other way...I have to ask my son and then will come back...

for distance of 11300mi is not so bad....the line there is straight but I do not believe, there must be more points in between...

I try the same and my speed was 1/2 as your;), to the Auckland, yes, my internet connection is slower...don't know now which one ....

I think the best is to use no. 1 and no. 2, and see what will happen...

Best regards, Josip :)

LOL. my mobile phone is faster than that frank.
I used to use maureen lipman (beatie) but canned it as I only got 0.350 meg at best.
changed to sky 8 meg (ten quid a month) and now average about 6.5 meg, which is good because I can download a film quicker than I can watch one. leagally of course.;)

You should ring up and complain Frank. If you ring up and say that you are thinking of leaving and joining sky unless they can offer you a better deal i guarantee they will offer either money off each month ( as they did do with me on friday just gone) or they will offfer you extra TV channels if you have TV or they will upgrade your broadband to the next bracket.

I got this from our Sky broadband 16mbit connection - £10 per month unlimited download :D

Not sure why it thinks my ISP is easynet - unless its the ISP for the maidenhead server.

All is simple and not...paying for 2mb connection you have only warranty for that speed from your home to your provider...after that you need a good luck...for example if you try to use some server with low speed of 500kb you cannot get more then maybe 300-400kb, if..

....from other posts you can see they ping a local server at very close distance and they have high speed...

Anyhow even when you ping a "local" server your speed is too low....try to complain and see what they will say....

Best regards, Josip :)

I have an old EVO FXR takes my mind off work and AC problems.

I had a cable connection of 20mb for a while, and got 19.45 on speedtest.net. It was blindingly fast

all depends on what type of connection u have, here in SA they shape u according to your usage if u are and uncapped account. But a 2mb line seems pretty slow for England. The average speeds should be around 10 - 50mb lines. Also auckland server :/ is a long way from home.

Show-off, we're excited about copper conductors down here in the south west. ;)

:) its ok having that speed mate but will still be restricted by site/server speeds, until the world plays catch up

Also funny you should mention copper, had to endure aluminium line here for a couple of years, as that was cheap at the time MK was built, then I found out the cause of my terrible line, often less than dial up 56k and hagged the life out of BT until upgraded to copper ;)

We don't get a say in the matter over here. National Broadband Network (NBN), is to be delivered to our door. Costing Aussi tax payers way too much.
