:p Anybody has experience about heat pump? [I mean experience of explaining how it works :D] Any reference [another reading activity before going to sleep for tonight] would be helpful.
Thanks
In simple terms reverse the cooling cycle. The indoor unit used for cooling becomes the condenser and consequently heats the space. The outdoor unit becomes the evaporator and extracts heat from the outside air.The lower the ambient temperature the more moisture it holds so when the evaporating temperature goes below zero C you will start forming frost on the coil. Therefore you need to devise a defrost system which is usually done by changing the mode from heating to cooling(the outside coil is once again the condenser) the hot gas being condensed melts the ice formed, once this is done the mode is changed back and we start all over again. There are ,of course many variations but that is basically it.
Hope this helps and don't loose any sleep over it.
