I just learning the air con trade. Just wondering with regards to handaling refrigment. Can a company get a grope lisance to handle refrigment. Or should every employer have to go on a safe handaling course.

thanks carl

Hi Carl and welcome to the forum.

No group get-out clauses I'm afraid. Each individual employee who wants/needs to work on/with refrigerants needs a Safe Handling Certificate.

Carl, there has been a lot of discussion here already, you could do a search on 'fgas' or maybe start here....

.

I’ve posted a few items on this subject and Brian picked up on the latest (thanks, Brian).

Here are the DEFRA
http://www.defra.gov.uk/environment/climatechange/uk/fgas/index.htm
and
DBERR sites:
http://www.berr.gov.uk/innovation/sustainability/fgases/page28889.html

EFCTCs site contains a lot of useful info, especially in their library section:

Plus, of course, ACRIB:

Happy reading.
