Hi All, I need to replace a compressor AJ4492A and have been told a CAJ4492A will do the job, does the C stand for Capacitor?? and will it do the job? the next question is this degreaser ran on R12 now which drop-in is the correct one to use, I have been told isceon 49,134a, 413a, R406a,R401a,R414b?

Hi Aza
C or no letter = single phase eg AJ/CAJ etc
T = three phase eg TAJ,TAG,TAN etc
Jon
I'd go for R413a never had any problems.
Thanks for the help guys:)

Is there some reason I should Not be using R-414B as a drop in for R-12 ?

ICOR seems to be hated , because the sales rep, in this forum and the other, but, I have had great success in the medium temp applications. Not so good in low temp, just do to the fact that to obtain a solid column of liquid to the txv you end up with really high subcooling. Seems to throw the unit off when it has a big load.

The guys at my shop are sold on 420a as the only r12 replacement in most systems. I have to admit it does work well but flooding is always a concern.

I have been using 414b for R12 and 134a systems for several years now with absolutly no problems. in a 12 system you only charge to 80% of design and for a 134a system you charge to 90%, or is it the other way around. It's printed on the box...
