Evap Coil to big for duct

First time installing a 2.5 unit, and the A-coil is one inch longer than the duct. I take it I will have to use my not so good tinsmithing skills and cut the duct to fit. I am sure this is happened to someone many times before, any tips or something I am overlooking to set this coil in place?

When you say 'longer' are you talking about the 'legs' of the A, or across the width of the coil?

The duct measures say, 20 x 24 , the coil footprint measures 19 x 25.

and

19+25 = 44
