For insulation buying purposes use the following sizes for when ordering.

1/4 = 6mm x wall thickness Class 'O'
3/8 = 10mm x wall thickness Class 'O'
1/2 = 12mm x wall thickness Class 'O'
5/8 = 15mm x " "
3/4 = 20mm x " "
7/8 = 22mm x " "
1 1/8 = 28mm x " "
1 3/8 = 35mm x " "

Unless the pipe work is going through an area with extreme temperatures i would recomend 13mm wall thickness for AC aplications.

Hope that info helps

It's getting a bit desperate out there if someone has to search the web to do a basic and simple number unit conversion.

If all else fails ask your supplier or look in the book - jeeesuus:mad:

Try asking for 4/8ths pipe at the wholesalers, after 5 minutes of searching in the catalogue they will tell you they don't sell it ( your coffee will now be at drinking temperature) say you will take 1/2" instead but it just isn't good enough!

Mig, I am new in RE, but want to say there are standards for tubing and pipe sizes .
Consult ASHRAE Fundamentals Handbook for nominal equivalent diameters.
