Just had a call from a guy who has air freighted four new icecream machines (Calypso?) in from china. These have been degassed prior to shipping. He is selling them on to customers, and needs them charging with R22. Am i right in thinking that no new R22 systems should be for sale now?

Cheers Jon (confused as usual:p)

He can charge them with R-290 as the charge will/should be well under 300grams

Last I heard was that R-22 can be used in new equipment until 2010, It will be available as a service refrigerant in existing equipment until 2020....in the USA.

Europe has some tighter dates.

No new units with R22 in the EU!

Fresh/new R22 will be made until 2010, thereafter only regenerated R22 until that's all gone (used up).
