hoshi ice machine problem

I have one with an intermitent problem.(last time was in february)The side of the evaporator where the loops and the water tubes are freeze solid.I thawed the ice machine and then started it up and found the compressor would be running frosting the evaporator but no power to the water solenoid,so no water running down the evaporator.Also when I turned the switch to the off position it would not shut off.any idea's?

by the sound of it i would guess that the water pump is not working. inlet solenoid valve will only operate during the harvest cycle

Thanks for the reply.I will check pump and make sure float is working properly.
