Hello my friends, how are you?
We have too many work with the weather here in Hellas ( Greece) .
I have a real problem too ask you today.
Does anybody knows if a simple compressor can work in the place of inverter?
In a system V.R.V. DAIKIN R 407 II.
Somebody told me that it can work , because my client can pay to change the inverter.

Thank you very much.

.

What do Daikin advise you to do?

VRF compressors are subject to mechanical stress and temperature not found in other systems.

They know what their products will do. They may be able to give you a clue.

I can't see how you would be able to run the inverted compressor without the inverter, the controls would not accept it.

BUT, if it's a twin compressor unit , then you can set the outdoor unit to run in "emergency" mode. This will run the fixed speed compressor without the inverted one. The system will function but only provide 50% of it's duty. Just make sure that there isn't a fault with the inverted compressor, if it for example suffered a burnout then the fixed speed compressor will not last either.

Good morning my friend.
Do you have the settings for the unit ( its a twin unit 300.000 btu ) .
How can i set it to work without the inverter compressor?
I know that they have a setting to do that but i dont know the settings.
Thank you for the reply.

Harris,

If you give me the model number, I can find out for you.

Otherwise, you could check with your Daikin supplier (but they will also ask you for the exact model, as the controls are different for the different units)

The most important bit is the first letter after the numbers, this will tell us which series the unit is from and thus what generation controls you are looking at.

On old g series there is a switch on the main pcb. It says emerg/norm . switch the switch to emerg . I do not know if this will work on the system you are working on but is worth looking.
