Hi guys

I am working on a 30 ton split AC unit, built about 30 years ago. It runs on R22. It is cooling a room with a million dollars worth of chocolate, in a cookie factory. The factory is hot, like hell, all year round. The chocolate room is in the middle of all this heat, so must be air conditioned all year round. The condensor will see outdoor conditions from 110F to -30F every year.

the question I have is about the logic, they have used with the head pressure control.

They are cycling the condensor fans based on head pressure, and they are using a 2 valve head pressure control coupled with a huge receiver. I am viewing the fan cycling control as being unnecessary, when there is refrigerant head pressure control valve arrangemnts.
