Jelly?

Hi folks,Just wondering does anyone know what causes the jelly that grows in the cold water of AC and fridge drains.
Is it bacteria? Fungus? Alive? Alien even!!
Any chemicals to combat it?

It's growth of bacteria and it taste very well on a small sandwich ;)

Have you never seen jellied eels being sold in London.
Just where do you think they come from?:D
