Is your matches damp? Sorry I couldn't help myself, you quetion is like stating to a car machanic my car is broke can you give me a list of things to check.
Can out the experts, if it's a gas furnace the experts need certification to work on it, by working on it youself you are endangering youself and those around you. Again call out the experts.
