We know the importance of keeping copper tube clean & internally free from contamination during installation work.
But just how clean is the copper tube internally at the end of the manufacturing process when it then arives on site ready to install ?

Does anyone have detailed info from copper tube manufacturer about degreasing / cleaning procedures & quality control procedures used.

Contractors will tend to purchase the lowest cost copper tube but does the manufacturer of the lowest cost tube have the same cleaning & quality control procedures as high cost tube manufacture ?

Hi, Thermatech. You should use nitrogen "blowing off" in your copper-tube system. It must to move away all the dirt.

I'm not sure what terminology is used for this in Europe or other locations, but here in the US refrigeration tubing is specified as ACR. This stands for air conditioning/refrigeration and includes the cleaning and inserting of plugs into the tubing to keep it clean.

Otherwise, you can get the same wall thickness and sizes of copper for plumbing purposes (water, etc.). This pipe tends to be less clean.
