Greetings all, here is our first post.
By way of introduction, CMR provides consultancy to the maritime transport industry covering:-
consutancy, market research, PR & events
head hunting recrtuitment and trainingWe are researching for an article we are writing to go in the June issue of World Cargo News (WCN) that looks at life cycle operating costs of reefer containers focusing on the difference between the main manufacturers i.e.
Carrier
Daikin
Thermo Kinglooking at the difference in their cost of spares and difference in the frequency (failure rate) for the following items:-
Compressors
Controllers
Evaporator Fan motors
Spares Kits for Vessels (price comparison only)
Obviously we will need to factor in the relative difference in fleet sizes for each manufacturer and ignore issues that relate to damage, as its the measure of reliabilty (by looking at failure rates) thats important here.
