HI, I wonder if anyone can help me, I have a samsung domestic A/C unit model SH09AW and it was unplugged for a few months, i reconnected it and the red and green lights were flashing on the wall unit and nothing i could do with the remote would make it work, I read the manual and it made no mention of this error in the trouble shooting part.
I called a samsung engineer and he said it just needed coding with happened from time to time with these units! he got the code off his mobile entered it and bingo it worked. He charged me €75 for 5 mins work which is ok but he would not give me the code or how it was entered.
Can anyone please supply me with the code and how to put it in.
Thank you in advance:)

Dear Nutmeg,

The option codes and how to put them in are in the "service manual" of the unit - doesn"t Samsung supply them in the UK?

I am actually living in spain now and I have no service manual and Samsung is being very unhelpful,
Any ideas?

apparently I can't upload files larger than 100k; full service manual is 2,6Mb... If you want, I can e-mail you the pdf file.

Pol

I uploaded the service manual on the following link (will only last for 7 days); (can't post link, will send message direct with link)

Check out pages 15 - 18; 15 thru 17 explain how to enter the code; on page 18 is a table with the appropriate codes.

What they actually do is use the same pcb for different capacities of the same model. the option code tells the pcb which unit he is in.

good luck!

My pleasure, Nutmeg.

I really can't see why you can't get those service manuals in the UK. I suppose it's about chargçing the 75 quid

I had the same problem as nutmeg, they came today from the firm, inserted a code and the AC runs again.Of course they charged me for it 50 euro. It would be great for me to know these codes.
Thank you very much, I wait for your answer with much interest.

Hi Jay !

I have the same problem.

Do you have the codes ?

If somebody have the codes for Samsung Vivace aqv12vba, then please send me a message.

The problem is that the display is blinking when you plug the unit again, and nothing works more.

Thx in advance.

I'm ashamed: my Windows PC  went down with tons of info and no back up :o (NTFS seemed "secure") but makes things so irrecuperable. (3rd time MS windows does this to me, when will I learn?! With MS-DOS you always took care...)
So born again to Linux and its various flavours and colours.

Any chance of the set up procedure by PM anybody?

I have downloaded via Pol's link to the full service manual but it only applies to the AQV12VBA and the AQV09VBA.

I would greatly appreciate anyone’s assistance in finding the codes and/or service manual for the AQV24VBA.

I don't have enough words to THANK YOU SUPER SUPERWILL you saved me from a lot of trouble and waiting!!! I was starting to give up because i though that maybe it was a new model and nobody cared for it yet to have it's codes! I was trying to find a way to contact you as P_P suggested but i couldn't find how to send a private message (i don't see any clear option for PM somebody , i don't know if this function is disabled for new members).
Anyway thankfully you saw my post and replied, thank God because here in Greece the service department of Samsung(and most of the companies) is your worst nightmare!!!
I was even wondering to sue them for not giving me the reset codes, because i was thinking with what right do they put an option to lock up my machine with every circuit brake i get! I mean it's a hardware piece and since i buy it i can do with it what ever i want (of course i loose the warranty if i don't comply with some regulation of the company but that's not the point). The point is i bought a product and the manufacturer never warned me or even mentioned anywhere on the product that he had put a lock up mechanism which can be very easily triggered and i had to put up with the company every time to reset it! Even if you don't have a problem with waiting for somebody to come to your place to reset it , there is always the other problem of what happens when your warranty expires? Let me guess ... they start to charge you for every visit!!!!
After all i only bought a product, i didn't married a company!!!
Imagine the hottest days of the summer, especially here in Greece where the temperature it can climb up even to 45oC, a black out happens, due to the massive electrical consumption of A/Cs and a couple of hours later when the power comes back and it's already hard to breath, because of the hot air, you see that your A/C has locked up. You call the company to send someone to reset it and they say you that nobody is available until the next week!!@#$!#$!@#$
Well this are a few thinks i had to get out of me , sorry if i bored anyone!
(I was wondering if this happens only with Samsung or other manufactures have this kind of lock up, and if they do what's there excuse for it)

One last question for you Superwill since you know the Samsung products very well , is this AQV12MSAN smart inverter good as a machine? I ask you because it seems to me that it's performance it's not so good compared to an other 10 year old 12000 BTU Sanyo A/C. Is it because the new A/C's use ecological freezing fluids compared to the older ones or maybe because mine is energy grade A and the other is B or C or just mine A/C sucks compared to the other?(Of course when i put it in turbo function it's performance is great but it consumes more power)

Anyway enough with my chattering i would like to thank again everybody who help me, especially Superwill to whom i owe a lot! :)

the AQV12MSAN is 4.2kw cooling and 5.5kw heating and yeah i find it a very good system for home use,the option codes are a little disheartening to say the least but bar that having worked on all shapes and sizes of theses i find them a good easy system (i would say that) but i do know most of its "in's" and "outs" but would like to open it up to any out there on there views?

I agree brian, but 99% of the threads have been from outside the UK, so maybe the level of technical back up out there is not up to the level it should be. This fault only seems to be on small inverter systems and from the threads I’m guessing are installed in domestic surroundings so without seeing the systems no one can guaranty the quality of the install as we all know inverter driven systems electrical wise have to be done by the book as otherwise all sorts of fun and games can occur, I’ve found powering on and off at the local switch on these systems rather than the R/C can cause this fault (it lose's its memory as every indoor PCB must be programed into what indoor unit it is fitted on) but other than that I personal cant explain these numbers just try my best to help all when needed, I am sure we all know on here I deal with a lot of Samsung in the uk but one thing I must stress I don’t work for Samsung but do have strong ties, I will never try to justify a manufacture as I am at the front line and deal with unhappy customers all-day everyday but hope my experience can help others

So even I can say they P*** me off too when this happens

I think you're right Paul, I suppose it possibly applies with other makes although they may have an easier 'restart' method.

Stable electricity supplies are essential for modern electronics and aren't always thought about at the time of install.

You do begin to wonder whether the addition of a backup battery is required to reduce this type of failure (wrong word I know but..) however, extra bits mean extra bucks so won't happen for a while :)

I think as systems become more electronically advanced, we are setting our self’s up for more and more problems, technology is a wonderful thing but I believe will are loosing site of what’s important, cooling or heating a given area to a set temp, when I started in this trade if someone had said to me I would be commissioning massive sites via laptop and have the ability to dial into those sites, I would said there mad!!! This industry has become more and competitive with all sort and manufactures springing up, and what do they differ on, there gimmicks as I call them, they all still heat and cool its just each manufactures selling point that sets them aside from each other, daikins VRV111, Mitsubishi G 50, sanyo gas driven VRV and Samsung wire less access ect ect so I think as brands push for the next big thing we the fire fighter on the road will get these silly problems on every bit of kit as more and more PCB’s/chips ect go into the systems

And where would be without faults I ask

Just my thoughts

You would think that the device should have this type of protection built in. I have several other makes of A/Cs in the same home, Mitsubishi and General Electric, subject to the same power irregularities and none of them have ever required a restart code.

I can’t imagine having to reprogram my TV (which is Samsung by the way) every time the power goes out.

I would have thought with technology as it is that they could have incorperated a lockin code to stop this happening. A backup battery is ok to a point but it is just something else to go wrong.

Hi, this is my first post...
, i'm from Portugal and I have a Samsung SH09AWH unit that doesn't work at all, it has the same problem mentioned in the first post: it has 3 blinking lights in the inside unit (2 green and a red one).
I read this entire thread and now i know i must have the codes to enter in the unit. The problem is that all the links posted had expired except this one (groups.yahoo.com/group/samsunghelp) but it has no codes for my model. From there i ''only'' learn how to enter the codes in the unit.
So can anyone give me, please, the codes for this model. Samsung SH09AWH.
Thanks

Sorry to dig this thread up again. I´ve been through this thread and a few others and google but can´t find the code for a Samsung SC09AWH. Does anybody have it, please? I am supposed to going to do a maintenance visit today, and the guy from site called me yesterday and said all three lights on the front of the indoor unit were flashing. So it would be nice to go to site prepared.

Otherwise you could try 25025 70340
the sc09zw8, sh09aw8, sh09zw8 alll use that code
or SC09ZA8 010000 1700d9

I've got every code except for the one you are looking for. Couldn't find it in all the ones I got earlier, couldn't find it in this post http://www.refrigeration-engineer.com/forums/showpost.php?p=83566&postcount=6 either

I I figured it might, all our a/cs end in an "8", so it might just be a regional thing to say what country it was exported too. So I guess the australian sh09aw8 was the same as your sh09awh.

I'm surprised nike123s code didn't work then.
maybe sc = cooling only, sh = reverse cycle, but really I don't know. Even when I worked for a place that was their service agent they told me bugger all.
edit: But if so, it doesn't mean much, the only difference is a lack of a relay on the indoor PCB for r/v operation. They sent me craploads of cooling only PCBs without this relay by mistake when I was working there, and they all worked perfectly except for no heating with the same programmed codes.

They must provide you with this detail and way how to enter them, because that is not error of unit. It is defect in design, and any decent company should provide you with solution.
If I was you I would call customer protection organization of your country and report that to them.

Codes:
08477717524E for AQV09FAN

Dear Friends - I see that you are lifesavers. I have two Samsung AC Units that have failed because of power outages. I need to get the reset codes to make them work again:

AQ09NSAN - brand new
AQV12FAN - one year old - this one is probably listed, but I would love to have them together.

If the service manuals are available, can I get a copy of them? That would be great. They won't give out the codes in Greece.

Thanks a ton,

I´m no expert in Samsung, but I think If you have two lights flashing then you have a fault. I think the two indicators that you have flashing is the fault code for a faulty heat exchanger sensor, but I could be wrong. I´m sure someone with more experience on Samsung will confirm.

Thanks to all the samsung experts out there, we really appreciate you helping us with our "comfort" issues.

i bring to you this error code E154 which appears to be a fan related error, the thing is though that previous service repaiman left no service report to owner and all i know by owners words is that they replaced the temperature sensor and repaired a broken condensate pan for the evaporator of a samsung split model AQ12MWBBM, so the next thing i did was keep pressed the evaporator ON button for 3 secs and got this reading from the temp display: Sec1-26, Sec2-17, Sec3-C2, Sec4-G/6:B/8.
or 2617C268. what do those numbers mean?

thanks for taking the time to read my post.

best regards

I need help with the codes too! But the model I have I can not find it anywhere. My indoor unit is AM26B1(B2)B13 and there is nowhere in this post from nike123

Samsung option codes!
http://www.mtf-online.net/public/Optioncodes_2008.pdf

I am in Mexico, and I do not know if there are a different set of codes, but what I do see is tha in the same owners manual there are a lot of model numbers including MC18AC2-09, MC19AC2-07 and four others that in fact are in nike123's post.
My question is, Can I use one of these codes instead? There are 4 different codes.

Thanks for your help.

I am a new member and I find this forum as an excellent choice for people who wants to learn as well as for people who don't mind sharing their knowlegde because in time they will need help too.

Hi guys - Could anyone offer a little advise regarding a Samsung AQVO9MSAM. I've had a similar problem to most on here regarding the option code. Being a little stupid ...!, I put the wrong code into my unit, would anybody know how you can reset the unit so i can put the correct code in. Also, as an aside, why do you have to put the code in once there has been a power failiure. Thanks
