Hello Everyone,
Im new here and just wondering if anyone can help:)

I have a store which is having the following installed:

Alva Maxi 3.75metre and Alva Maxi 2.5metre running on one compressor.

and a Alva Maxi 1.85 on 1 smaller compressor

Now id like to turn these units off (to save power mainly) during the night and quite times.

My supplier has told me that if i switch them off from the consumer unit on a daily basis, it would lead to me putting to much strain on the compressor (the unit outside), which inturn would reduce its life span. He has however told me that i can have digital temprature controls fitted which would allow me to reduce the temp(and save power) when i like.

But surely there must be a way i can switch off the cabinets completely without damaging anything?

Can anyone help?

Welcome to the forum, It might be worth seeking advice on energy saving from the contractor involved in the installation of the units, without compromising stock loss along the way.

With Kind regards

Mark

Hi MarkFiddy, thanks for the reply.
Ive spoken to the contractor and what i listen above was all he had to say really.

Im just being doubtful though, because im sure on other makes of remote fridges the user has the option to turn them off....? But im being told theres not a way, and the only 'solution' being really to turn the temp down.

Turning the power off at the consumer unit does not allow the system to 'close down' properly and will also disable compressor crankcase heaters and other safety equipment.

Listen to your refrigeration specialist.
