how to add an avatar to my profile

Iv got an avatar on some of the other sites that i use but iv forgot how to add an avatar to my profile, can someone help me?

Hi Marc,

Click on 'User CP' on the title block and then look at the left hand side of the screen and click on 'Edit Avatar'.

You will be given various choices of ready made ones or you can upload one from your own computer by using the choice at the bottom of the page.

iv now added a avatar as you can see but i wanted to add a gif ( an avatar that moves like Jossips) but it wont let me . Any idea why?

Is the size of the gif file above the file size limit?

According to the details in the 'Edit Avatar' section of my User CP it states the size to be:-
120 x 120 or 19.5kb whichever is the smaller.

It might be worth having a go at reducing the file size.

I had an animated gif some time ago as an avatar that was too big to start with. I used soem software that reduced it in size without ruining it.

Now you're going to ask me what the software was aren't you? Damn, 'cos I can't remember:o

il google it and have a look but id imagine that the amount that id have to shrink it would cause it to become a still picture (avatar) or am i wrong?

just found a programme that has shrunk the size and hasnt affected the quality called Irfan View but when iv tried to upload it, im told that i cant upload animated pics....why?
