I was wondering if painting lines on the concrete ice surface will cause any problems, when it comes time to make ice? Also if the painting is ok what product would be recomended.

Usually the ice surface is painted. You put down about 1/4" of ice, paint the surface white (about 300 gallons are required), lay down another layer of ice, paint the lines then finish making the ice surface.
The paint is special water based stuff that does not insulate the floor. By painting the ice you can remove all the marks when you take out the ice.
If you paint the floor you must make sure that the paint isn't so thick as to effect the ice. You could end up with soft ice.

If you are painting the floor do not use an oil base, water will beed up. They make a cement sealer in clear or white that works with no insulating value.
Ibuy it Arena Systems 1800-328-6808 they also sell white ice paint. Jet Ice also sell the ice paint
