Hi,
I want some information from your experience about chiller system using ammonia. Which one is good in energy saving to install chiller system use gravity system or use cascade system.

thanks

Gravity flooded chillers using plate heat exchangers (PHE) are very common and work quite well. They offer a huge benefit by only requiring a small operating charge (which for ammonia is a good thing to have).

Flooded shell & tube chillers work good too, but their operating charge is a much greater than a PHE.

faryuki, we need a bit more info. What size range are you looking at and what temperature level for the leaving fluids. My recommendatios will vary abit according to the size and temperature. Also, what is your condensing medium.

I am also confused by your heading chiller cascade systems. A cascade system is one that is basically two different refrigeration systems stacked or in series with a cascaded condenser on the lower stage which is also the evaporator on the upper stage.
