Hi All,

We spend hundreds of pounds getting engineers on gas handling courses to comply with regulations, now i see you can just walk in Halfords and buy R134 ready to use.

Where is the sense in that

Raymond

Don't sweat it... When Halfrauds finally take those kits off the shelf, we can go off to the plumbers merchants and buy cans of pipe freezer...Guess what that is?

Funny thing about Halfrauds, it is easy to find cans of R134a with all kinds of additives, but cant find the vacuum pumps. The helpfull behind the counter recons that you dont need a vacuum pump for cars...

I had a look at the instructions for one of those Halfords cans and it was a bit scary.

1 can and 1 hose with pressure guage.

Instructions:-
Connect hose to car access port.
Start engine and run a/c
Check guage
If in green all OK
If in yellow (low) depress button on can in short bursts until pressure in green.

Nowhere in the instruction does it tell you to connect the hose to the can of gas:eek:

Being a smart arse I knew how to use it but not everyone might:rolleyes:

Was looking at these today. One can claimed to remove wax and dirty/rust but didn't say what it did with it. Maybe it uses it to seal the leaks.
