I appreciate if some one can help me getting the relation between the Ammonia compressor HP and TR (Ton Refrigeration) with any changes of the suction pressure? Is there any formula or roll can get?

Thanks

Here is a chart that shows the relevance of the overall efficiency (BHP/Ton) of a four cylinder recip. compressor at various discharge pressures and saturated suction temperatures from an old project.

That should provide just about any basic information you need.

Thank you US Iceman. Does that apply for a screw compressor? And is there any formula for that?

For the most part, the relationship is similar for screws also. There are some differences based on volumetric efficiencies and so forth, but not substantial.

The data in the chart is simply derived from the compressor manufacturers performance data.

The whole idea of this chart to illustrate the change in overall efficiency (of the compressor) by raising the suction pressure and lowering the dischagre pressure.

For a specific system, or to generate more exact data, the specific compressor data should be used. The chart is close enough for general discusisons and review though.
