Would you use a classified section on the RE forum?
From individuals yes but probably not companies.

I Think it would be a good idea so people could get rid of equipment they no longer require, however the things that would concern me would be how items are paid (Securly) and who's selling. Like LRAC i wouldnt like to see lots of big companies clogging up the site with long lists of tools/equpment. I Think there would need to be boundrys set of what can and cant be sold otherwise NRS/HRP/D&W/SRW and RPW could end up putting half their catalogues on there. Perhaps you could run it like Free car papers where users could only sell a certain amount of items per month. Possibly memebers who have been registered over a certain amont of time as well to try and stop cowboys coming on and selling ####.
Obviously, the above might not apply if there is a good commission rate going to webrams Las Vegas Fund ;)

We have a workshop full of secondhand equipment I cant give away . So if I can flog this off to anyone ( within Australia ) I would be happy .
Most customers are not interested in secondhand as we dont offer warranty , and new equipment is more reliable in the long run .:D

Most sites have a minimume of a 100 posts befor they can view or post on the clasified section.
I agree companies should be barred, Only personal level, or perahaps have a small company section where they are allowd like 20 items a month or some thing and have to pay a fee to the board ;)

Not totaly understanding how the Canadian system works I can't coment on your situation. But I would not go to a training centre that did not equip me with a full range of equipment. Are you putting yourself through your training or are you emplyed? If you are employed then your companie should provide for you.
Cheers taz.

The coledge does suply you but they stress that you should train with your own tools as this way you will be 100% efficient with them when you leave, and if I where employed I would be suplied. Right now though to get parts and tools for self practice and studying by building actual systems is nearly impossible, no matter how well you prove you know what your talking about!

It is hard to get started and the Canadian system is different from what I have experienced in the UK. What specific tools are restricted. Gas yes I would agree but are you saying that hand tools are restricted untill you are qualified?
Catch 22 eh:)

exactly EVERY THING is restricted, you can not buy any thing that will break into the system, that includs guages, valves, copper fitings,, bullet valves from any store.
So I have to hunt down local techs or order online!
