Iv'e been looking at your advatar and I always thought you are working on a kitchen counter or something indoors, under a hugh air extractor.
It's funny what you see when you want to.
I have realised now that you are actualy working at the side of a viehcle of some sort on a raised platform.
Silly me eh:)
Cheers taz.

Some can be a tad difficult to 'get' one for me was what I thought was a bar which turned out to be a gramm open compressor!
However this was taken in Malaysia doing a one day job which turned into a 5 day mare. I got help going there and on site via this forum 'Bernard' and had a great time none the less..
anyway thanks for looking
Cheers

Hi Richard,
I have read few hours ago a thread you started (?) or posted (?) about: apologizing or something.
I have not really understand the thread and post because i have to leave the computer. But when i came back, i could not find it.
Am i just still sleepy at past 3:00am?
Or, i just can't find the thread?

Unfortunately, Richard has left the forum so he won't be able to reply.
I also missed 'that' thread, but on another thread I think something happened. Sometimes discussions start getting a bit gritty, and people forget that we are here to have fun. Not incinuating that Mr Bartlett has done anything wrong, but everybody is free to come and go as they please.
Hope this clears things up for you.
Chillin:) :)
Hi all
Should any member require Richards email please PM me and i will forward it to you.

richard come back!!
i guess it was the thread where it started getting like a slaging match, well we all have bad days, . . . .
the good thing about this site is it stays calm and stable, . . .
One of my customer suggested that i treat his PROJECT SITE as my customer's home. He continue to give a nice analogy: if i have him (my customer) in my own home as my visitor,
- would i like him to shout inside my home?
- would i like him to just enter any door without asking permission?
Or rather,
- would i like him treat me well in my own home?
After giving all those questions, he then told me that he hopes me & my crew would refrain any shouting &/or any horse playing in his project site. . . .
I have done that and have also learn to act well in any project site i have been into. . . . :)
I hope we consider ourselves as visitors in this GREAT SITE and hope be treated also well by other visitors.
I do not know who set-up this Forum but i have enjoyed it well in my 3 months' visit.
I hope to have said something helpful and valuable. :)

I saw the thread. In another thread it was suggested that Marc O'Brien was posting under Richard's username. Richard denied that he was allowing Marc to post under his user name and asked for an apology from those who were making the accusation.
If the apology was not forth coming Richard wanted to be removed from the forum, along with all his posts. So he seems to have been removed as a member, but the only post of his that seem to have been deleted, was his post asking for an apology.
So if one post gets removed to sweep stuff under the rug, why not just grant him his wish and delete all his posts?
I like it here, but I am still a rookie here. I see the need for moderation when you have flame wars, and you keep the riff raff out. You get a lot of egos battling it out on these forums.
But I think it is limp wristed just to delete items that perhaps shed an unfavourable light on those in charge.
If I get punted as a trouble maker so be it. I am more of an AC guy than refrigeration.

Many good threads have been started by rbartlett, if we deleted all his posts that would automaticlly delete all those threads which means other peoples posts will be deleted.
I for one, put a lot of thought into each post I make and would be quite anoyed if they were all deleted.

You were just asking a question as far as I can see, so this does not make you a 'trouble maker'. As I have said before, we are all here through choice. And our intention should be to have fun.

Let me just say that when you sign up to this forum, you agree to the rules of the forum. The rules do no say that when you take the huff and leave, all your posts are removed. That is not the case and that will not be happening.
If you dont want to post on this forum, its fine, dont. Its a shame (or is that sham) that some people react like that but there you go.

I guess the rules say that he has to tolerate being slandered by the guys who make up the rules.

Hi :)
for the record I am one of those who were accusing. By accuse I said that the style used by Richard was Marcs style and as such was un-mistakable, I did not say Marcs style was wrong or that I had something against Marc, far from it I enjoyed discussing his and my points of view:)
Richard over reacted to what was an innocent remark from me that was not ment to cause offense:( , for any offense caused I am sorry:o
But when Marc went I felt Richard would follow, follow he has.
Hopefully this will be the end of it and we can all look forward:)
Kind Regards Andy:)

I guess the Style must have been editted out, cause from what I saw it was about an 8 word sentence.

Years back in in Usenet's hay day, I used to laugh as a good ole boy from Louisiana would frequently describe Marc's style as "using lots of 50 cent words", implying he was verbose, articulate, liked the technical jargon.
I do not see much style in http://www.refrigeration-engineer.com/forums/showpost.php?p=53675&postcount=28 (http://www.refrigeration-engineer.com/forums/showpost.php?p=53675&postcount=28) but I do see some bias with Richard being expected to leave after Marc did.

Richard was never, in my opinion, expected to leave after Marc. He has done so for his own personal reasons.

I personally feel this was Richard and not Marc. He was continuing a discussion and i for one believe his hands were on the keyboard when that was typed.
They were probably both in the same room, but Richard is no liar as far as im concerned.
My views (for what they are worth)

Actually, I see some similarities to both him and marc in the way Andy types....:o

In life we are influenced by external information from the media and friends. Alot of writing styles on this forum change over time as you read other post's and alter your style to accomodate getting the information over effectively without going on and on.
Yes Marc and Richard are close friends and work colleagues, technical information is always talked about with friends, this forum is just that, a collective of friends all trying to help each other.
No one should accuse any member of using somebody's elses account to post on this forum. The offending article that caused this problem was a publication in a trade magazine by Marc, and Richard felt he needed to put his point accross as other forum members do daily.
The article showed that technically driers should be changed before a problem arose latter on in its life whether you agree or not is your choice. All of us are influenced by our teacher's and these teachings stay with us for life, so we are the students of someone, and this can show in our character and our skills and writings for the next generation.
The point is Richard in this day and age still has moral values and was defending these values, society does make mistakes but there's nothing wrong with an appology being recieved when needed. The PM system could have been used to rectify this problem and the forum would have been none the wiser?
Face facts Richard has left the forum knowing that the forum has been damaged by individuals not willing to accept the individual/teachers views of forum members, they posted excellent articles during their stay.
Please note i post as LRAC before you accuse me of being someone else?

Lrac
