Worst case scenario you should do a deep evacuation of the system , maybe change oil and oil filter ( with the original synthetic oil and original oil filter) and it should work.
The pressures and temperatures of both gases are very similar , so it should work . all the best , Tzvi.

Rfcont, why not use R407c if that was the original refrigerant?
Why you want to change it to R22?

The problem itself interesting
Transition from ***** R22 on R407c known as retrofit is in detail described in the literature and I would like to know return process just in any case:)
(besides R407c rather expensive stuff)

Heard recently about a split a/c unit on r22, usual story, short of gas and fried compressor. changed r22 pot for r407 pot as all that was available at the time. charged r22, runs fine. how long will it last? who knows? but i suspect r22 will move synthetic oil around the system as happily as r407.
