Mike

If your absorbtion unit has lost it's charge then it has surely "sucked in" atmospheric air as these things work on very low pressures. Consequently, the system will be contaminated and will require quite a lot of time and effort to be restored to it's original condition. The cost of this may outweigh a replacement unit.

Hi mike.
We have limited call for repair of small absorbtion units in UK (its chaeaper to replace).
I have contacted a friend who will give me an idea of the equipment to use for recharge. Has the unit stopped working or lost its 'gas'.

Hi Mike:
We have entered a contract for maintainig a 75 units fleet of small refrigerate trucks. The units are very hihgly contaminated, use R134a. The flushing equipment manufacturers say we have to flush each component individually for releasing all solvent out of the unit. Does anybody know of a more efficient method?.
Thanks in advance Gerardo

Hi Gerado
what type of units do u have?

here if we have a badly contaminated system we
use a sperate compressor and condensor run by an electric motor connected to the suction and discharge service valves.
It has inline service filters in the liquid line and suction line, also an comp oil filter
we then run it on this clean up machine for as long as it takes, changing oil and filters regulary.
if its really bad the pipes or components are renewed,
at the end,if was acidic then sometimes use an "acid away",which is a small pot of liquid that you put in the system
then when cleaen unit is put back into service.
hope this is of use.
