Hi guys.

Just a general question about heater elements.

Is there a way to work out the maximum surface temp in deg. C or deg. F of any given heater element by formula?

1. If Max watts is known
2. If pwr supply is known.

A sparky once told me there was but I haven't found reference anywhere.

Cheers fellas.

hi
if you will also give the type of surface then it will be posible(every type has its own specefications)
But I need to trace that formula for you.
Try to look at electrical books (basics)
It was 15 years ago when I study but remember it was there:rolleyes:
Ill try to find my book:D

Cheers mate

Cheers Mate. ummmmm. I was just trying to work out the surface temp of the element itself. I'm not sure what type of material it's made from.

I pretty sure the ones I'm looking at are packed with magnesium oxide or sulphyde.

Does that help?

My quiry is how close These elements can be placed to certain materials if the materials flash pnt and or melting point are known.

If you could pass on the relevent text publication also it would be much appreciated.
