I have come across 6 of these chillers of various sizes with maneurop scrolls and hitachi screws. The only problem we have had has been with refrigerant leaks from the motor terminals on the hitachi screw compressors. Two of the units with maneurop compressors had faulty condensor fans, thats about it so far.:)

Medium price cheapish Italian units. i saw one with the most bizzare fan speed control system ever, a multi tapped transformer (HUGE 40kg+) stepped 415v down to 400v and 380v for slow and medium speeds on two banks of three zeihl ahbegg type motors. the transformer must have cost a fortune and all it wanted was 2 pressure switches. no suction isolation valves, built like meccano etc, etc..........
2 x Copeland 6 cylinders from memory.

i have done alot of work with climaveneta and found it to be ok. As for the hitachi screws leaking on the terminal plate be warned that when pressure testing they have a maximum test pressure of 13kg, exceed this and you pop the seals. As with all italian equipment the condensor coils are prone to leaks.

Try Cutting any pipe cross bonding as the stresses cause fractures, just clamp the discharge if a recip (after the anaconda).

As for Hitachi Screws, take of the terminal plate and tighten up the terminal bolts, this expands the bushes, carefull with the insulators though.

Well seams most people are right.. Climaveneta are prone to leaks..yes on the condensers and yes on the terminal plates..from Hitachi compressors, But this only happens to the 02 series of compressors, the 05 with white terminals are ok as these have up graded 'o' rings on the terminal posts. So don't pressure test these over 10 bar on the 02's and not over 13 bar on the 05's, Fan speed controllers do go wrong and the watch out for the fan motor mounts these are rubber and degrade after a while. One thing to remember is that if you have a trend 104 system controlling these chillers this now not supported any more and nor is most things in these as they went bust about 4 years ago.. but you can still get some spares from Walter meier (aka Axair Climate) we still support somethings.

Hello mate,
ICS Technical are quite efficient at sending out Climaveneta manuals, I printed it off but forgot to save it!

There is no Technical now, the manager left and they made the other guy redundant??

As for the W3000, this is just their name for the Carel PCO3 hardware. it all depends on the software that is loaded.

Standard passwords are:

USER:1234
UNIT:9990
MAnuf:0000009982

If you ever get the controller reverting to itallian language on version 12 software you will need to replace the controller with version 13r1.

Powermster change their passwords and will not give them to you.

Hi Penguinkiller

The password 0000009982 dose not work on the newer units they most have changed it do you have the new password

Hi,

Climaveneta changed their passwords a year or two ago because everyone knew the "1234" and "9990" codes - Climaveneta had to send their people out to many sites to rectify problems with controllers / because people made changes to their controllers and then couldnt understand why the chiller wouldnt work - so now each unit has a specific password up to 13 digits with both upper and lower case letters and also numbers - if you require the password you must request it from Climaveneta and explain what you want to change - good luck.

clima codes are 1234, 9990 or 03230

antifreeze alarm can also come up it the TD across the evap is 8*c which it shouldnt really be, other than that please make sure all other aspects are covered and check the antifreeze set point its usually 3-4 degrees from factory

Hi there ,

I had a recent problem with Climaveneta chiller with W3000 . After condensor pump failure it gave condensor fan failure alarm ?? . Also language reverted to italian which we reverted back to english. But after that we have com failure alarm on expansion module 3 . Infact we ony had one expansion card installed at address 5 and none at 3 . So i think PLC has reverted to default setting of some sort. Later on PLC stopped acceptinp user passwords 1234 , AND MNUFACTURER UNIT PASSWORD 9990 . wHAT SHOULD BE THE PROBLEM ???

hi there,

i have come across couple of climaveneta with leaks between the expansion valve and chiller vessel pipework which has rusted very badly and also 1/4'' flexible line had rusted and leaked. condenser coils were no surprise either.

Dear Aziz!
Could you inform me how did you fix this problem, becouse we have such situation with FOCS WATER 2702. (W3000 SE), we changed EN to RU and RU to EN back, and we saw AL093 alarm.
