i have 24000 BTU window a/c , reciprocating compressor, my question:can i replace the reciprocating compressor with rotery(or scroll) one the same BTU?

but of course my friend, but do bear in mind that a rotery will run hotter with a bit more noise as to the scroll I can not comment as I have had no personal experiance with them.

Yes You could, but you will find that a scroll will probably cause more vibration and be more expensive compared to a rotary or reciprocating.

Scrolls have less vibration than rotary, small scrolls are very quiet:)

If the compressor is very small you could have a problem getting a scroll small enough to match.
