At the least you should post some 'compressed gas' signs, probably also have a COSHH list inside.

Also consider ventilation requirements.

Is it a rented lockup and does the lease allow storage of such items.

Brian thanks for the reply, the storage is a large metal container lorry type thing owned by our company, i have ordered a compressed gas sticker from RS, i will print off a COSHH sheet from HRP and laminate it, will think about the ventilation side.

Hi

Also sort out chains or straps to ensure that they cannot fall or get knocked over. If the storage is to be long term think about detection equipment.

Wof56,

The BCGA (www.bcga.co.uk) guidance note GN2 "Safe Practice for the Storage of Gases in Transportable Cylinders intended for Industrial Use: Rev2 1997" would be appropriate reading.

Also refer to BOC Publication "Safe Under Pressure" phone 0800 111 333 document No SFT/007875/APUK/0604/20M covers how to work with, store and handle gas cylinders safely. They also run "Hazard Awareness with Refrigeration" safety seminars which covers storage of cylinders. Phone 0800 02 0800

Hope this helps.
